As the mini challenges are coming to an end for Healthy Wage, I am fasting today. I went for a 1 mile walk to test out the newest thigh guard prototype. It still isn’t there yet, but more issues have been corrected. Hopefully, 7 will be the lucky number on that.
I will be weighing in tomorrow, hoping the sweat out and fasting will get me to the magic number of 301.8 lbs or less. If not, it’s not a huge deal, but I have been working so hard for it. We shall see soon.
My friend, Molly, cans and sells a bunch of goods. I love her pickled beets and the Jalepeno relish livens up a sandwich for sure.
Ivan’s Homestead Canned goods.
Can’t wait to have one or two on a burger tomorrow.
So, yesterday afternoon my guy brought up there would be some financial issues next month due to his job being delayed a month. So, that means, me joining the YMCA will be delayed until late September or early October. This was the reward I was giving myself for getting to 300lbs. So, it’s a little dissapointing but not a huge deal. I just want to swim haha!

I feel a bit hungry today. Not overwhelmingly so, but it’s unusual for me get hungry in the mornings these days. I need to eat decent today since I plan to fast tomorrow to see how close I can get to 301.8 lbs. Wish me luck.
Well, work is calling. I may do some thigh guard work after my job today to hopefully test it tomorrow. We shall see how I feel this evening.
So today, got up early and hit the Total Gym as is the norm on Thursday. Level 5 is getting easier on the legs, but I’ll incorporate more on it before moving to 6. I was able to do 40 pull ups today! That is awesome. I’m not sure if I should move up now or wait till I get to 50. We shall see on my next workout on it.
My poor TG sure isn’t as pretty as it was.

The 3 month and 4th of July challenges are quickly coming to an end. My final weigh ins for them will likely be Monday unless I see a lower number between then and Thursday. The team is definitely not in the top 3 unless miracles happen between now and Thursday. I don’t discount that possibility. I still had 4lbs to go for the 4th and likely will go on another long walk and do another fast Saturday or Sunday. I definitely can’t fast both days, not healthy for me.
Well, I’m feeling good energy and been doing a ton of writing. This Monday you get the announcement connected to that.
Yesterday I felt pretty blah most of the day. I pushed through and realized after lunch I hadn’t drank enough or taken my supplement yet. So, around 3 or so I took it and made sure to drink more water. Soon after my energy began to build.
By the time work was about over I was buzzing with energy and decided to take advantage of the unusually low temps and fine weather by going for a walk.
I had only eaten a few egg rolls a banana and a small chocolate bar up to that point but wasn’t hungry as I set out with my guy. My goal was to go further than Monday without needing a sit break.
Soon after setting out, I realized it was late enough we should probably walk to a restaurant to get something for supper. I needed to eat more calories regardless, and knew I wouldn’t feel up to cooking after a long walk.
I let my guy decide what restaurant we should head to. We checked a local place first, but it closed early for some reason. So, next he chose Papa Murphys pizza. We hadn’t tried it before, so there we headed.
Overall, I made it there, stood and paced around waiting for the pizza to be prepared, and then we headed back, he holding 2 large pizzas, needing baking, and me holding his 2 liter of soda.
About 3/4 of the way home, I started to feel the need to rest, but I pushed through it. We made it back and then I still couldn’t rest yet. We had to bake the pizzas. Haha!
Walk numbers from 8/3/21
Now, this isn’t a record setting walk for me BUT it is the longest walk I’ve been able to do without the need to sit for a minute or two to get the heart rate down. Through the full walk, my heart rate never went over 162 bpm. Now, the cooler temp definitely helped but still that’s fabulous progress.
For any curious, yes, I did have two slices of pizza. After that, I ended up at just over 1300 calories for the day.
Well, just figured I’d share the victories like normal.
So, a lot of people have been talking about pressure around or to me. As a person who rarely let’s pressure get to me I always find the perspectives of others interesting.
In all things I’ve done, music, academic, business, weight loss, gambles, I’ve never felt a pressure that made me break. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve put some massive pressure on myself before. Sure, that pressure is heavier when someone or many someone’s are counting on you as well, but all the pressure, every bit of it, is coming from inside myself. I don’t compete against any but myself. My best is my best.
Pressure isn’t bad. It can be motivating, but pressure can easily slip into stress. Stress is bad. Stress is what leads to pressure breakage. It may mostly be my genetics, but I rarely stress about anything.
I wanted to offer a little feedback of my process that I’ve naturally always swung towards that combats stress for me.
I see the problem and if an answer doesn’t appear right off I just reinforce in myself that it does exist and I can find it.
I don’t allow myself to care what people who don’t matter me think.
I make lists
I talk with others who may have experience with the issue
I delve into my spiritual side to find peace
I accept the issue as a growing process and move forward
Those are a few of my problem solving techniques. I have used these for various things through the years. Yes, I do have stress, it just doesn’t hang around or effect my daily life often. Stress is generally just a challenge to overcome. It’s self imposed therefore can be self fixed.
